Dirt road out, off the Trail of the Ancients. Had not got the big guns out of my jeep yet... shot with my Nikon 1 V1. I made the mistake choosing to wait for the sun to drop a bit in the sky - before pulling out other gear to shoot with. The clouds dissipated before I realized it (setting up camp)... It had been raining like stink all morning while I was driving. That's water in the near pothole...
Thankfully the 1 V1 is a very good little rangefinder... :ylsmoke:

Here's a shot I took recently, that I rather like:

DSC1828-L.jpg

It's of a statue of Junipero Serra at the Santa Cruz Mission. It's amazing how much detail the sculptor went into at the eyes.

Was up in South Lake Tahoe and took some pics of the sunrise and sunset. After looking at the pics, I noticed the specs on the lens from debris. Note to self, ensure lens is clean before taking pics.

That sky is pretty phenomenal, 2scars. I get all excited when I see a sky like that developing around sunrise or sunset.

I did this last one as a way to get participants in my challenge page to start posting for the week. The challenge theme was Commercial Vacation Photography where each person was to try to highlight the area they live in. As they say, someone has to go first

Is that middle one a composition? It's really great!!

3 shot HDR Pat. +- 2 stops at about 3pm. Check out the shadow from the hand rail...
Used Nik's new HDR Efex2. I kind of like the natural feeling that it offers over some of the presets in their original HDR efex. One of my biggest complaints with many HDR shots is halos, to much Structure in clouds, etc but this program is pretty sweet and with some tweeking it does a great job IMO.

I really like it because it's so easy. And I saw someone earlier mention structure, it's easily lowered/removed/added.... the tweaks are endless.
