Buzz buzz buzz. This little guy was starting to build a nest on my deck. Shot taken with my G9, I was shocked by how good the macro is on that little camera.
For this below shot I was experimenting a little with a new technique I picked up. It can be frustrating when the camera does not capture the light quite like you see it. So here I slowed the shutter, and about half way through the exposure I blew on the lens fogging it up a little. Of course you could do this in Photoshop or with a special effects filter but you'd loose sharpness going with one of those two routes. I fogged up the lens a little too much here, but it illustrates the effect you can get without the need for destructive editing.
Artistic? Eh. Well thought out? Maybe, it did take me some time to come up with how to shoot this series. Feel free to to tell me what you think, or make a guess as what these are shots of.
