Man thats perfect for what I want. Hope it comes in at that price. Disc space doesnt worry me a bit. You can pick up 160g protable drives for cheap now is it ever became a problem.

My only concern is the heat in the truck.

I just picked up a used Fujitsu touchscreen with 11" screen notebook for $120 off ebay...20gig HD
I still might look at this new one since the flash drive would be nice for offroad

I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.... My wife needs something ultra portable for work and it would be a nice fit in the cramped confines of my 110.

This is a great looking package. I'm looking at replacing my 12" screen Toughbook with something a bit smaller. Let us know your impressions...

I was a little worried about compatibility with GPS and software. If it is workable, that would make it very attractive.
I too await some real world review from you.

I am concerned with this as well. I would assume that any Linux software will run on it, but who knows.

XP would be good. I will be watching the developments. I was afraid that the system in place would not be very easily adapted to install a different system.

I think if you change the OS to XP it may slow the laptop down considerably.
I tried Linux years ago, and I believe there is a program to run windows software on a Linux machine? Lindows? Any Linux experts out there that can offer words of wisdom?

NewEgg has reviews of people wiping out the drive and installing Windows. I would suggest XP, as Vista will run slow on that machine, beside, trimmed down install of Vista still takes 8Gb, that would up the harddrive fast.
