AT Rear Tire Carriers

We are just about to order up some rear tire carriers for Chaser and Horizon trailers. They will be bolt on fixtures swinging away from the tailgate toward the drivers side of the trailer. This will allow for easy access from the kitchen side of the trailer.

The swing away carriers are designed specifically for the Horizon and Chaser trailers but they will work with most trailers that are 40" in width. There is the possibility that wider or narrower swing away carriers of the same design can be made with an up-charge.

The carriers will be made to fit most of the standard bolt patterns, 5 on 4.5", 5 on 5", 5 on 5.5", 6 on 5.5. Land Rover patterns requiring Land Rover studs will be available with an up charge. Other patterns will be reviewed on a case to case basis.

The carriers will be finished in black powder coat.

Cost $695.00

We are be taking pre orders, for delivery in April.

I might be interested (already have two spare swingouts). I'd like to see photos and know how they bolt up/weld on. What type of spindle are you using? Also, would these work for a 2004 Horizon (Mario's old trailer)?

Huh... that gives me an idea that that's what I should be doing with my trailer in order to drop my tire. I had to mount it way up high so that it wasn't in the way of the door. But this would work, though it is a bit more of a PITA any time you want to use the rear door... hmmm...

Any issues with 37" from a clearance/weight perspective?

I hate tire carriers on the base truck so mine is always eating up roof space.

Shouldn't be from the perspective of the swing-away. It would depend more on what you were putting it on and what was in the immediate area around the swing away.

Sorry I wasn't clear, I meant a swing away on a Chaser or Horizon, and let's assume a family sized Ezi Awn RTT is the only thing potentially close to the swingaway.

Would the tire possibly be the limiting factor in departure angle or interfere with tent mounting? Talking a 37x12.5 here, so not an extra wide tire, on a stock 80 series Cruiser rim @ 4.5" backspace.
