AT Tacoma Habitat: Official Thread

Rather than working with arrival dates I prefer to tell customers that the tents are ready to ship and the earliest we will get them is next week. As you can see from the list above we have only accomplished the first two stages of a seven step process, and anyone who has ever been involved with shipping goods internationally will tell you lots can happen between now and when the tents arrive.

So be excited that the tents have started the process, wish them the best of luck getting here, but don't get fixated on a date.

Is the green tent an option? I would prefer the gray over any color.

Grey is the standard color. The first 30 tents are green as this allowed us to expedited the process rather than having a 4 week further delay.

oh, and here's our trip write up for Arizona.

Our friend Victor Nguyen https://instagram.com/adv_t4r wrote it.

Pictures were a mix from me, @adv_t4r and @247daryl

This link doesn't work anymore, is it still available somewhere? I'd love to read it.

Also, anyone willing to share their long term experiences with the habitat? I'm looking at pulling the trigger but am curious about the comparison vs a roof top tent. My rtt is the same width, and sometimes I wish it was a little wider, but combined with the whole package of the habitat I'm willing to compromise.

Well i wish Mario had not said on this forum they would be,
Got alot of us excited. Alls good just a lil dissapointed and excited to get camping.it is what it is. Its out of your hands i understand.

This is why AT is a successful company, it's run by an optimist (Mario) and a realist (Martyn).

Mario deals with sales, Martyn deals with production, so their outlooks fit their job descriptions.

If I can't see something in front of me, I don't have tracking or a definitive delivery date, it's not real.

For Mario if a vendor has promised a completion date and air freight and customs clearance should take a week, it's real.

Typically the reality of it is we get the product somewhere in between the two.

Neither view point offers accuracy, we just try to do our best given the circumstances.

You are going to need to send us an e mail with your name and sales order number, that way I can decipher which order is yours.

I just want to say, the guys at AToverland are a great group and have provided me with nothing but great customer service.

Any misinformation they had previously provided they owned up to and whenever they did have an update, they've kept me in the loop.

Lastly, they have been more than happy to answer all my questions and make all the last minute changes.

I can't wait to pick up the habitat and meet the guys in person in May!

Any update on fit kits for the vehicle habitat? I know you guys have been busy with orders. I got an FZJ80 now to replace my old dodge Ram 2500

We don't have any specific fit kits at this time. It is a DIY system. We provide the main components and the geometry of the struts. The end user has to figure out how to mate it to the application.

I have a green one keeping my fingers crossed for April. It is a long way from Oregon to Arizona and I don't want to make another trip. I did see the green material. My second battery is in, my Fridge is wired, and the slide is mounted. We have no sales tax in Oregon so I have been trying to get as much done here as possible.

woohoo thats outstanding, I live 15mins from AT and it takes every once of energy to not stop in daily to see how close I am to getting mine.

Yes I have to be in Albuquerque end of March so the plan was to pick it up on that trip. I am retired so I can flex a bit, once May arrives things become busy because that is rafting season. June we have river permits for Montana. My parents lived in Prescott for many years.

AT Team will we be able to store anything ie sleeping bags pillows ect while the Habitat is in its stow position?

It's not like a traditional rooftop tent with a bottom. The AT Habitat has internal access from the bed, so that entire area over the truck bed is open except for the overhang over the cab.

So unless you have the additional sleeping platforms, you would not be able to stow pillows and sleeping bags against the bed.
