The PO had fitted my '01 with P-rated Geolanders and they were absolutely horrible, wallowing and mushy and downright frightening. I replaced them as soon as I got home from the fly-n-drive.
I am extremely happy with my Toyo Open Country A/Ts in 265/75-16. They're wonderful on both dry and wet pavement, with minimal road noise. Excellent in snow and ice, surprisingly capable in the wet soil and mud here in the northwest, excellent on the slickrock of Moab. They're wearing very well and, very important to me (as my wife and I travel alone rather than with others) have withstood terrific punishment with no flats or failures when other rigs with E-ply truck tires were suffering multiple punctures from jagged rocks. They do chunk a bit on sharp volcanic basalt, but any tire will.
They were very reasonable, too. I have no reason to look for a different tire when these need replacement.
