height limitations maybe, but so long as it wasn't taller than 4.3m (the legal height of a truck trailer) you'd be ok in suburbia
WRT C of G so long as there was minimum weight up top it would be ok

With limited water resources, you can't take long slow HOT soaking showers like at home. You learn to take what's called a ‘Navy Shower'. While there may be privacy concerns, you're not in there for long.

Well after being in the navy for 30 years I can tell you a Navy Shower consists of standing stark naked along with 130 other blokes waiting for your turn to use 1 of 6 showers
Cant see that happening in a GW
Or are they really that big inside ??
and as far as the concern over loo's
we never had doors on toilets (they can jam shut and trap you in the cubicle)
so in the GW do you also take a navy dump :wings:

I too like minimal shower and toilet facilities in an RV. So little time is spent there that a large space is wasted. One think I liked about the Winnebago Lesharo which was the first small US RV with a diesel engine (Renault regrettably) was that the bathroom enclosure slide or folded out of the way when not in use. We have a curtain around the top of the 'bathroom' in our Northstar (Texson) TS1000 and it's fine.
I am probably in the minority here but I despise anything pop up or soft sided for sleeping.... Yes its nice to have the breeze blowing through while cooking or having a beer or watching a storm but the flapping and wind and insulation side of things just dont add up for me.. Now I obviously have not been in this rig, so maybe I am speaking out of turn here, but I have spent a night or two in a pop up camper in high wind and rain and cold temps and it just flat sucks. (not sure how to translate that into Aussie slang) I am a light sleeper which does not help matters any for me.
Depending on where you are taking this rig, I would almost rather have the small height increase given by the pop-up section in a hard top, so definitely interested to see that model coming.
Personally, I would prefer the regular cab version and either more living space or a a shorter overall rig. Two spares is the way to go for sure. As for repairs there was an article on repair kits in Overland Journal within the last year or two. Maybe you can find it online. Some of the kits had side wall repair options, large patches and even sewing kits.
As for the bathroom, a high CFM fan should take care of any undesired results while in use and if that is an issue for your travelling partner, maybe you should get a new partner or travel alone. It's just part of life unless something is different in OZ than in America.

I wonder how much a single cab LHD version would cost... $250K?
DzlToy I happen to agree with you on the soft top pop up. For something in this price range I would prefer either a fixed top or a hard sided pop up. Better weather protection and in bear country it would be nice not to be required to have everything in a bear locker.

Best not to speculate at this point but we highly doubt the LHD will be anywhere near that much. Also the planned hardtop will be far simpler and cheaper to build than the pop top too.
We have the next unit almost completed ...... based on a single cab Isuzu NPS built for a retiring couple hoping to head off on a Round The World trip in the near future. Will post more pics of that as soon as its done......about 2weeks.
