I met a guy the other day bought a soft top from him, and he had a stereo, multi media, GPS, bluetooth centre for TJ/LJ jeeps that was amazing, pricey but with all the stuff you could want , mounting in the factory spot, plug and play.

you weren't joking. $1300.00 is a lot for gps/radio head unit. If it was about half the price I would strongly consider it.

Agree, half the price in an XJ format...

Maybe I read the web page too quickly... is this an Android device? Play store compatible?

Yeah, not buying a device running a dead OS unless I can get something else installed on it.

I've met the guy that Mr.Chips is referring to, he's got a lot of time and effort refining the software on these units and it has quite a few neat features for guys who can't run a true double din radio. Unfortunately he said an XJ version is a while out as he wants to continue making these units better. :(

its probably better to buy a single din fascia adaptor and a single din radio with bigger screen.

winCE is not really dead, actually is pretty good and you can use multiple gps apps, the really bad part about that radio, besides the price, its the screen size.

Nowadays, the way things are going you are better off with a tablet on a mount talking to a head unit. The tablet can be changed at will then and the head unit is just an interface to the audio back end effectively.

I agree with you reece. If the new Earl GPS lives up to the hype, I would rather have that or a Garmin MT that I can take geo-caching or on my motorcycle.

I believe on Jeepforum there was a guy who modified a JK center piece to fit an ipad mini. While the software and trail gps on the insane audio is cool the removable tablet option IMO would outweigh the TJ001 especially being that Jeeps are a great place to get things that don't belong to you. (Seriously, I'm out a Macbook Pro, ipod nano, a sweet hatchet, and several sets of Navy digi camis. Learned my lesson) this just seems like more reason for someone to break into your Jeep, and for the price? Mmmeh.
