Awning for a Pop-Up: To Build or Buy?

That looks good. The next gap in the budget and I'm getting a large one on order.

So you said that you ordered leg extensions? Without the extensions, can you make it sit level? I take it in the pict above that you had it lowered down for shade?

How tall are the legs fully extended and how tall are the extensions?

Yea, I ordered the leg extensions. They are (2) extra legs about 24" long each. Without them, the legs fully extended would be about level at the height on my camper. I got the leg extensions to have the option of angling them back to the truck eventually.

The exact height I will get you this weekend. I did not measure it, but I would guess about 8ft down to 6 or 6-1/2ft with one section taken out.

Great idea. Did you fabricate them yourself? Does the suction hold in a big wind?

Leg extensions were just another $30 or so as an "add-on" I didn't order the suctions, but screwed some hooks into the camper. The cross support sits nicely in the hook, then I velcro tape them together. Holds pretty well.

I would love a pergola for my camper. :)

On topic, does anyone have the awning attached to the roof waaay up high? Or is it usually on the non-lifty bit?

I am going for lifty bit!!!

I jumped and ordered the ARB. It should be here tomorrow. I hope to mount it on the rear to protect the door some.

When I figure out how to post a darn picture of what I am talking about I will do so!

I will have to actually have it mounted to the roof to clear the door. The top part is not very thick and the clearance lights are there. Somewhere on here there was a mention of "L" brackets from Campinglab used for such a project.

Wish me luck!:shakin::shakin: This means nothing...I just liked it.

Yay for lifty bit! :)

I hope you'll post photos. I think if I get one it'll have to be on the roof too.

mkish,

Believe me...when I get this done....however I get it done...I will post pictures everywhere.

Last night I had to throw a hissy fit because I just felt my husband just wasn't being properly supportive of my ideas. Oddly enough, this morning he called me with multiple ideas on how to make it happen. :victory:
