Well tonight Mike, Cory and myself got together to go over some trip details. There is still alot of planning and organizing to do, but we have gone over our general outline and itinerary and made the neccesary changes. We feel confident in our newest outline, and will now be planning our general route around it. I do have to say that the overall itinerary is pretty close over all. We have made some changes in where we will be on certain days but the it looks good.

I will post up an updated outline in 2 weeks. While I'm gone on my week of rivers trip Mike and Cory will be working on several details and I will be working on some stuff like menu's and safety planning while on the road.

I would say today though was a major step in the right direction! :jump:

:sombrero: Here we come !!!

ok, so here is the update, we will leave FL on the evening of the 9th, we will drive straight through to Tucson and arrive on the 11th around lunch time. We will meet with our crew from Cleveland and prepare for the crossing into Sonora at the Nogales border station later that evening. We will sack out just after the border and enjoy our first real night of sleep and :tent: wait up the next morning to travel to Ensenada. We hope to arrive in Ensenada on the 12/13 then we will set out on the baja 1000 after visiting with some suspension and hardware vendors of my company. We plan 3 days to make it to La Paz, once there we may move back out on to the course to help with pits etc. and watch how the real guys do it. One night in La paz to party with some friends and celebrate the race then we head back up the East coast to the baja 500 course. Hopefully run its terrain then back north towards and west towards a new crossing to Sonora, throught the Altar Desert and home again to Tucson, then back to FL.

I hope those of you who have traveled extensively in these areas will chime in with suggestions on possible routes and must see stops along the way. We are also interested in logistical thought and recommended daily travel milages/times/ or travel times. Hope to see more of your thoughts.

Wel guys the dead line is coming quick! Last night was another of a bunch of 3 a.m. nights wrenching. Got my box o goodies from TRD-Parts and unfortunetly the mounting bracket on the a/c condensor got broke off in shiping so I will be talking withbarb to get that resolved today. I did get my power steering pump rebuilt that was an intersting project! not that difficult just little tedious since I had never cracked one open before.

We also got some stuff done to Mikes as well. The big news is that it is driving again pending a redo of the front end alignment. It is sitting pretty on those toyo mt's for sure! All 5 cameras, and 3 monitors, front and rear winchs, front arb, rear road armour bumper, amp research side steps, led rock lights, led engine compartment lights, dual betery management system, custom guage cluster, aem air intake, exhaust, T.R. bead locks and toyos rock krawler lift, wilco tire gate, bestop topper, 4 piaa lights, custom fiberglass hood, edge power management system, vegetable oil system and custom tank, lowrance baja 480c navigation, all switches and extra guages, are installed as of tonight.

Now we stll have amountain of parts. like cb, hamm radio, premier power welder, carr light, bar 4 piaa HID lights, both winches need to be spooled with synthetic, limiting straps on suspension, interior must be reinstalled. cargo tie down brackets in bed hi amp alternator, sponsor graphics and a bunch of other stuff I can't think of cause I'm dead tired LOL! Hopefully by Monday we will have his install finished. We have sent pics to Scott of the build so far. I'm sure when Scott gets back in from Sema he will get those posted in the "truck" section of the trip report page.

ANyway just an update.

well guys we are heading out a little late. Mike truck was having a wiring problem with the bullydog torque converter program, and my truck blew the radiator out about 20 minutes before we were scheduled to leave. we were up till 3 a.m. trying to get the chevy going but to no availe. It is now in the tranny shop and should be ready to go in about an hour. We will be departing about 12.

we did have about 70 people show up for our anticlimatic send off event. oh well. it was still fun. everyone had a good time checking out the "david and Goliath" rigs and truck you and offroad fever productions got some great footage.
