The spare tire bag looks great! cannot wait till they have this in production.

The grab handles, finally a decent grab handle. Going to grab a set of these for sure.

Thanks.

I don't like any of the grab handles that are on the market, they're either to thin or they have plastic handles that don't feel good or they're too blingy or made from paracord and don't look good, so I decided to design something with nicer styling and a comfortable leather grip. I'll check with them to see when they expect them to go on sale.

About the spare tire bags, I spoke to OO this morning and they're going to sew two samples with the new fabric and send one to me for testing. I'll post photos when it arrives.

I got the wife some JK front door pockets, this is high quality stuff. Unfortunately, I have to wait another month til her birthday to install them.

I have the Jeep handles and while they came with my Jeep they never were removed because there is just nothing else out there that looks good to me, well till now.

Keep posting those pictures!

As part of my project for the apparel company, I'm doing a Gladiator shirt. In the image below test paper printouts of the graphics are sitting on the shirt to see how they look. I'll probably apply graphics to the shirt later today, if anyone has any comments or improvements to suggest let me know.

I learned a new word the other day - "frog". No, not the kind that lives in ponds and goes "ribbit", but another use for the word - a "frog" is a holder for a knife or sword that attaches to a belt or piece of clothing; often the weapon and its scabbard goes into the frog but sometimes just the weapon does.

I made one this morning. I've got a large knife (actually a Swiss Army bayonet) that I'm using as a design prop for my Bushcraft Rucksack project - there will be provisions on the rucksack for carrying a hatchet and a large knife. I decided to make a MOLLE frog for the bayonet and its scabbard.

On a MOLLE panel:

A view of the MOLLE strap on the back:

The frog and the rucksack aren't Jeep projects per se, but the frog does attach to MOLLE surfaces and is shown above on (forgive me) a New Bronco tailgate panel that was handy in my sewing room. With some Velcro wrapped around the roll bar, the frog can hold the bayonet in a handy location, like here in my LJ:

Just my opinion but I would only use the Gladiator on one breast pocket and one emblem on a shirt sleeve.
I think 2 emblems are enough and 4 makes the shirt look a bit “busy” to me.
I post these prototypes to get feedback like that, thanks for responding. I'm doing a shirt right now that only has a Jeep logo over the breast pocket and a small "Easter Egg" jeep climbing the corner of the other breast pocket flap. Much less busy.

On that shirt I agree. If the shirt didn't have pockets then one on the breast and one on each sleeve would be fine. Those pockets are so 1990's, unless you want to show your jeep pride while fishing.

Here's one that's less busy - just Jeep above the pocket and one "Easter Egg".

These shirts are so... inexpensive and available :). I bought them at Bass Pro Shops for about $12 each, they're on clearance now because it's not short sleeve weather anymore. These aren't the shirts the apparel company would use, they're just something inexpensive and available I picked up for prototyping.

This circuit might be useful for people who only have one battery in their Jeep and run campsite accessories off that battery. You don't want the accessories to drain the battery lower than what's necessary for starting the Jeep so some way to prevent discharge below a certain level might be a good idea. This is a low voltage shutoff circuit that can cut power to the accessories at whatever voltage you decide:

The circuit is available at https://www.mpja.com/10-10-22.asp?r=292539&s=14. Here's a video from the site showing the operation of the circuit:

It wouldn't be hard to use this circuit to control your accessories. It's got a maximum capacity of 20 amps, but if you needed more current for your accessories you could use this circuit to control a relay with a higher rating.

FWIW.

Have you heard of Priority Start? Automatically disconnects the battery when the battery gets low, reconnects with a press of the brake pedal, allowing the vehicle to start.

Yes I am familiar with it, and it's a very different device than the one that I posted. That's an all-or-nothing device - it disconnects the battery completely, which not only turns off any accessories you might be running at the time, but in most vehicles will also reset the clock, trip odometers, etc. It's not adjustable, so if you would like to set the shutoff threshold differently for some reason specific to your situation, you can't. And it's about $115. But it is simple to implement, and it might be right for some people.

The $7 circuit I posted a) allows shutting power to only the specific accessories connected to it, b) is configurable to a specific voltage and c) is inexpensive.

Both could be used at the same time actually - the circuit I posted could be used to control a fridge and campsite accessories like lights, and the device you posted could be used in a "belt and suspenders" approach - the accessory circuit could be set to a bit higher voltage than the all-or-nothing device for additional protection - the devices would be shut off before the all-or-nothing device decides to shut off everything.

Both devices have value, it just depends on exactly how you want to manage your battery and devices (and wallet :)).
