Barn door hinges

hey modifiers out there. So I have a 2013 express with barn doors. Thing is the hinges don't allow the doors to swing all the way around (180 degrees). I think the Ford vans do? Wondering if anyone has ever extended the hinges out to allow this to happen? doesn't seem like it would be hard to do if one is hand with welder and comfortable with metal work. Of course it would require repainting but can it be done?

Use some wood to mock up your current angles and see what holds you from opening wider. Better to play around with a few ideas on cheap easy to use material before going gung ho on your rig. And with a welder, time and skill there are many things possible

Side barn doors?:

Open the door all of the way.
Close it just a little.
Grab the black sheet metal thing that catches the door, with a finger that you particularly don't need.
Pull the black metal thing out about 1/4".
Door should open all the way now, but that catch thingy should still keep the doors from hitting the body.
Drink profusely until alcoholism sets in, because your stuck driving a GM Express van.

I'm pretty sure the rear doors always open the full 180.
