Basic Adventure Trailer

I also have to ask, what is the fascination with the roof top tent? I can see being off the ground if it rains. What are the other perks that made the additional $2000 worth it?

I'd say roof top tent and Engle fridge w/ the battery are my two most used options. In so saying that I also would order the base trailer with brakes as that is difficult to add later.

I like that the bed/sleeping platform is always flat/level, this helps with a good sleep for me.

I agree about the brakes, I have them too.

Easy to setup. Step one remove cover. Two, grab ladder by the bottom and pull backwards. Three, adjust ladder to make level. Climb in and go to sleep. I also like the fact that you can set up on almost any surface. I will use the airbag suspension to level out the trailer if need be. Oh and they are so comfortable with a real pillows and blanket. I would highly recommend one. Only downside - sleeping without one.

I camped on this off-camber spot during the 2007 Expedition Trophy.

The foundation of the whole unit is an incredibly well engineered and built chassis, with the world's best suspension (and it's about to get better).

Mario might have spilled a few things to me when he was out here a month or so ago but I'm not telling! He might do this to me... :sport_box ! As far as valuable options I'd definitely get the 12v package, unless you are good at wiring things yourself. Pretty much every other option is straight bolt on. The product is amazing and trust me and everyone else when we say how much they stand behind the product. Mario did not come all the way to Colorado just to say hi to me. He's really an incredible guy!

yes critters with no legs and those with 8 and tails have a harder time getting in your tent that way

I feel if you break camp daily and are on an extended trip the ease of a Roof top tent can't be beat. If you get caught in bad weather it takes literally one minute to deploy I do a lot of my camping excursions VIA an ATV and trailer mounted Roof top tent and its my only shelter in bad weather . IMHO the money spent is a small investment. I wish I found about RTT's years ago maybe my wife would still enjoy camping LOL.

OK, how about a compromise. You come to AT's film night and you'll be able to see for your self what's been happening in R&D. Might get a sneak peak of a few other test designs as well.

Okay Martyn enough suspense! It has been over 24 hours since you posted the tease of an AT Film Night……….More info please……….

AT is on the cusp of introducing some cutting edge technology both to the suspension system and to our production methods. It's a very important step for us, so important in fact we halted production for the whole month of February to do comprehensive R&D. So as you can imagine there is a lot of time, effort and money invested in this.

The timing is right for us to unveil our projects at the movie night. We didn't plan it that way, the timing just worked out.

Does anyone have a basic Chaser Adventure Trailer? By basic, I mean maybe one or two options. Is it even worth it to purchase an AT without the tent, stove and power options? Once a trailer is purchased is it possible to bring it back to add options to it? (Maybe the AT builders can chime in here).

Thanks!

I have a kind of reverse situation as I am purchasing the bolt-ons from AT, attaching them to a utility trailer with the future plan of buying the basic AT trailer.

Starting with the RTT was a good move for me, sets up fast, very comfortable. As more of an accessory, the Engel is serving me well and I consider it to be another valuable component.

I do not think you can go wrong with the basic AT, either decked out or bare bones, starting with a great foundation will serve you well through the years.

I have been drooling over the AT’s for several years now through several improvement cycles. I am starting to see them as I see electronics, as soon as you are out the door and committed, something better comes along.

I think the originals are great platforms to begin with and most mods can be bolted on to an older model. So, the improvements just keep me in drool production mode until all of my financial priorities align and I can purchase my own. That being said however, I am still in the ‘what can it be?’ daydream mindset until the curtain goes up on the latest evolution.
