I use and Exide AGM. 6 years old and still going strong. They are made in the USA. They are comparable in cost to other top of the line batteries.

FWIW
I would stay away from the new Autozone Autocraft Silver batteries.
The gold series they had years ago were great, last gold one I had lasted 9 years (fridge, winch, killed it a few times) as a primary battery, before the dual battery set-up. When it died and I needed a new battery they didn't make the gold any longer and only had the silver. The silvers have been replaced every two years due to failure and had to argue with the manager both times as it would almost die with overnight use of the fridge and they thought it was OK. The last one died after sitting for two weeks, took it in and they said it was fine. I told them to keep it and I went elsewhere to get a battery.
Still have 3 other gold batteries going strong and the newest is 6 years old.

To have an additional source, my AutoStart(??) Platinum AGM brand battery from Advance Auto is working great, but I use 2 batteries.

Really? $465????? I have one in my Jeep, and it was like $199 on the sticker price?

I actually ended up claiming a warranty on an old battery and getting a $10 rebate on the new battery...then the guy knocked the price down for me...after the rebate they paid me $5 to upgrade, Lol.

Maybe your battery is bigger?? What size is it?

I just put one of the X2power marine group 34s in the ZJ a couple weeks ago. So far, so good. I've heard plenty of good stuff about Northstar (as well as Odyssey). Outside of those 2 brands, I make a point to find batteries made by East Penn, rather than the more common (and in my experience, not as good) Johnson Controls or Exide stuff.

Look in "Power Systems" sub forum...tons and tons of info.

Sears version of the Odyssey, the Diehard Platinums have been discontinued.

ended up with the x-2 seem like a really good battery. 1500 amps 890 cca pure lead plates made in us. ironically I let my jeep cool down pulled the old yellow top and tested it with a multi meter stirred 14.4 v but as soon as th new battery went in the check engine light went off!

If there's any actual issue, the CEL will come back. It gets reset when you disconnect the battery, so it may take a few drive cycles for the ECU to re-learn everything and re-find the problem.
