I believe one of the reasons for limited U.S. availability is the Horst link patent issues. KTM bikes have used 4-bar linkages which means they either pay Specialized a tribute or they do not distribute in the U.S. For 2013 they have gone to a single pivot and so maybe expanding the line to roadies is part of the introduction here.

Kermit, they are made in Taiwan AFAIK, likely Giant. There are some unique things, KTM head tubes have some special thing that is supposed to distribute forces better. But Giant makes 3/4 of all carbon frame out there, maybe more.

I don't either for sure (assuming Flounder will), but bikes coming out of their factory speak Italian, German, English and Spanish and so I am just assuming. I doubt most brand names will be totally open about this.

As for the actual maker, I'd put Giant at the top of my list of guesses. Since Giant is making bikes for Colnago, Pinarello and many others, that would be logical. My second guess would be Martek with Topkeye my final guess. If I get it right do I win won?

It does have some Giant/Orbea/Kestrel looking DNA in it, so who knows.

Watching Paris-Tours yesterday it was kind of odd seeing "KTM" on the jerseys of the Bretenge-Shuller team.
