I'm so happy he found a good home. I've been working on Josh all week but it was a no-go. My first pal was a Beagle and they are wonderful dogs.

Looking at his pics I always thought he looked like a Teddy....

That one didn't work with the family CEO. She is leaning toward Rufus right now, but Odie and Opie are in contention as well. Not sure how any of my namesake uncles will feel about this- it's not the same as naming a kid after them.:wings:

After an intense meeting of the family's creative department (my wife and me + margaritas) combined with our 3 crack assistants' attentive assistance and input (playing Wii at the same time) and careful study of all possible psychological implications, conotative associations and meanings of each potential moniker (google search on "southern dog names"), the dog's name is .....




Odie.


There's one problem. My Arkansas family has a corner on all good southern male names, and of course, I have a deceased Uncle Odie (as well as Homer, Omer, Rufus, Reedy, Short, Billy Joe, Opie, Nute and a few others). So when the family visits, the dog's name is Otis .. unless I find out that I have a relative by that name as well.
