Bed Rug Carpet Kits?

Called Bed Rug Carpet Kit. Supposedly, super solid carpet with a light foam padding. Entire bed gets covered. I have a shell on the back of my 1999 Dodge and I sleep back there alot and this seems like a perfect buy. Extra padding, quiet it down and insulation on those cold nights...

A little priceing tells me my kit would be around 400 bucks, which is close to what a spray in bed liner would run.

Anyone have one? Thoughts, expeirence? Seems like a sweet deal....

Thanks.

A friend of mine had one and he didnt like it. he did alot of dirt road travels and it just trapped the dirt and dust. So he bought some indoor/outdoor for the bed and then he installed some cots like this. http://www.tentsontrucks.com/Roll-A-Cot.html

that way he could pull out the rug and give it a shake if it got dirty. he likes it this way.

I have TWO bed rugs in my rig - but of course my German Shepherd stays back there with his foam mattress and carpeted topper... I went with two floor only Bed Rugs for noise abatement. They are incredibly tough but do hold onto dust and dirt (and hair) pretty viciously. I would bed line your rig and get one floor Bed Rug. IF you are hanging out in the back, you will likely have a sleeping bag etc for more comfort. If the Bed Rug does get soiled, it is a easy matter of pulling out the one piece at the car wash. I highly recommend them!

I really like mine and would buy another for my next truck. I just vacuum it every couple of trips. Also it provides a bit of insulation on the sides & bottom for those cold nights.

LOL, yes, the cold nights. I lost count how many times my arm has fallen out of the sleeping bag and touched the side of the bed. When that sheet metal is 20 degrees... freakin wakes me up!

I have a good shell on it now and its failry sealed up. I admit, more and more I think about it, the more I want one. Just got to scrape up the money. :(

A bit of positive pressure (supplied from the cab via a small fan) would take care of that. ;)

I have a cab access through a sliding window. I have found running ther AC and keeping the window open a little does wonders for keeping the dust out. As it is, I have quite a bit of gapping around the tailgate that will let some dust in. With the air flow up a bt, it does help alot. When I get the carpet in, I plan on sealing it up better.

Bed Rug

We had a bedrug in my wifes 01 Dodge Ram. We chose it when we had the topper put on. I wanted to line the bed, but the guy at the topper store really recommended it and it was WAY cheaper than a quality spray in lining. After three years of use I must say it was AWESOME! I would definitely get another.

We did lots of desert miles in that truck. My favorites features were the ease of transporting dogs under the topper- no more watching the dog slide across the rear view mirror during an accidentally too fast corner and the ease of sleeping in the truck. I do a lot of desert chukar hunting, it was so nice to just pull over and throw the sleeping bag in the back- no more dealing with the bed corrugations (whatever they are called) digging into my back.

I usually left the stock rubber mat on top of the bed rug so it didn't get dirty, when we were camping I would pull it out and we would use it to stand on for cooking and changing.
