Is there any particular rule that says I can't replace these with yellow warning lenses? Seems to me that would be a bit more useful than flashing white lights.
Tom, it will depend on your state's Vehicle Traffic Codes, and every state is different. You can look it up, or you may be able to just call your local State Highway Patrol Office, anonymously of course. I think you would be OK as long as you didn't turn them on while you were driving, but why take a chance?
I'm changing my front and rear lights to amber, but then I'm a trailer and not a full vehicle. I want to be able to give approaching traffic as much warning as possible if I'm broken down on the side of the Interstate changing a tire, whether it be on the trailer or on my F-250, which would be completely blocked from view to the rear.
