Yeah! This is what I want, well almost. I want a four door (for hauling the family) and I want it in the non-traditional black! I've never seen one in person, but if I had the loose change I'd drop it for this....:Wow1:

I'm not sure it really matters what you drive as long as it's well equipped, you know how to drive it, and you can fix it when it breaks in the boonies. The Mog's always been at the top of my list, like the hummer it's pretty point and shoot off the showroom floor. If I was traveling around the world I think I might want a defender 90/110 or a 70 series, might be easier to get worked on and less conspicuous than my hummer.

With the 70 series you'll never have to worry about getting it worked on, it'll break down ;) . Thst white Ute in one of my later posts was abused by most standards and it never so much as hiccuped. The Troupy was the same deal. On that specific trip the pic came from we used it to put tension on trees we fell and basicly used it as a skidder. No complaints. Nothing ever went wrong with it. I thought I had broken the ute once when I tried my damdest to get up out of a nasty revine but couldn't... Then it dawn'd on me that my front wheels weren't turning let alone locked and digging. Turns out there were these things called hubs and someone had actually un-locked them...Easiest fix of my life, turned two knobs adn away I went ;)

wich is the best 4x4 suv or pick up

For our family, the FJ Cruiser it a perfect choice. This truck can handle 3 child seat. It confortable, it's good mechanical and he brings all the family back every time!

He is not perfect, but if you put two steel bumper, a little lift and 33" or 35" of tire it become a serious expidition vehicule. For the offroading, just one word....WoW!!

My next modification is costomize some tubing bumpers(front + rear) and on the rear bumperi will install two swinging out, one for the tank of gaz and water and one for the spare.

In my humble opinion there really is no best 4x4 or pickup. It just really depends on what one likes and their personal taste. For Alot of us love the Toyota is the one and only. I can see why they are capable ,sturdy and very reliable. Alot of us love Jeeps and wouldn't even think of anything else. They are proven trail trucks and was the first "4x4". To Some crazy folks on here :sombrero: myself included LOL the Land Rover is the only one for us. They are capable ,quite Strong, attractive and just spells "adventure" not the most reliable trucks but hey We work around that and deal with it. So there is no best 4x4 it's just we like in a truck and see what works best for us. Because in the end they all do the same job!:victory:

Maybe we can create the ExPo Vehicle Awards of Merit, with lots of categories. What category would you suggest?

--2009 USA vehicle with best stock equipment for off-road driving
(Rubicon probably wins here)

--Best new USA vehicle for use as a family daily driver, while retaining off-road capability
(daily driver = has 4 doors plus cargo space, gets good mpg, capable of 80+ on the highway, great brakes)
(off-road capability = low range, rear locker, ground clearance)
Perhaps the Grand Cherokee with Mercedes diesel? Touareg with diesel V6? 4Runner with Trail Edition package?

--Best for carrying a camper and still retaining some off-road capability
Dodge Power Wagon, Unimog come to mind

--Best-supported by after-market vendors and local clubs
(Jeep, no question)

--4x4 that retains the highest percentage of purchase price
(G-Wagen and Defender probably win here, maybe 60 series Cruiser)
