Im a Toyota guy, and my brother is a Jeep guy, so I was thinking for Christmas, maybe a subscription to a Jeep magazine of some sort would be a cool idea, I'm looking for something good, not the cheesy 4x4 mags that litter the shelves of book stores with their chrome and 6in lifts, but something respectable, if there is such a thing, thanks in advance!!

JP Freek is a good one. My favorite print mag however is "4wd and Sport Utility" It isn't as polished as some of the others, but this is a good thing ( real life rigs). It has really good tech articles, good reviews, and their travel articles all have coordinates. Each month they have a contest where you have to find coordinates that are hidden in that issue. Whoever gets to it first wins the prize. They scatter these around the country. We tried it when the coordinates showed it to be within 150 miles of us, but we weren't fast enough. Be sure to check their website before you go on the hunt to make sure it hasn't been found yet! They have given away bumpers, suspensions, lockers, etc. They had an article on a Volvo 303 last year that was set up for expedition use. It was one of the most amazing rigs I have ever seen.

JP magazine is great too, obviously specific to Jeeps. That and JP freek would be my best two suggestions.

Obviously I'm a little partial to JPFreek since I'm the editor but all the magazines that have been referenced are good resources.
I will mention that JPFreek is planning to announce a "print-on-demand" option in 2010 where you can have the magazine professionally printed and shipped directly to you as you desire. And of course it's fully-digital and viewable anywhere you have a computer or mobile device, plus the subscription annually is only $5.95.

I want to like JPFreek, but just can't enjoy the electronic format. I like the look/feel of a print magazine. If I were given a subscription to an electronic magazine I would be disappointed.

My sister-in-law give me OffRoad Magazine every year for xmas. I dislike it more than I would an electronic format.....:Wow1: She means well.

Just signed up for JPFreak, what a cool magazine! A print on demand option would definitely be cool, depending on cost of course.
