I wouldn't hesitate to use the MorePowerPuller, I've had one for 15 years, and it's handy in off-road situations. Used a 2 ton model with both a Samurai, and a Cherokee. I would buy the 3 ton model for a larger vehicle.

It will be going in the kit for my Bronco, as well as everything suggested above.

I have and use the Black Rat grip hoist and the recovery kit that they had for sale with it. Great combination and includes most all you will need for self recovery. I have recovered some sand buggies from the depth of the large bowls at glamis, pinzgauers in the rocky mountains and used the hoist to pull many a friends dead vehicle onto my trailer.
