Hey everyone, lets keep things in check. First and foremost, getting this pup to a good, forever home.

Emergencies come up in life and when they do, getting online is not first priority. I have been there myself so I can understand how it can happen.

Not that I am looking for anything special outside of helping out a needing pup. I am actually taking the day off of work and driving this guy to Phoenix. No I was not traveling to Phoenix for my own reasons. I just offered to help get him that far and am standing by my offer of helping. The real hero here is wesel123. He took a big responsibility of taking this guy in, trying to find the owner and nursing him back to health. He is risking being fined by having more than the 2 dogs he has now. He deserves the credit of really helping out. I'm just a middle man in this deal. :)

I agree and i have thanked numerous times.
The one who is a flake would be bigHodad808 he offered a great trip right to middle VA and i would have grabbed the pup but then vanished as did his contacts here.
All that said all of the offers to help this pup out have been fantastic! and everyone who is helping to move him, keep him are saints.

Hey Wesel - I didn't realize you still had the beagle - you know I'm headed to Albuquerque from San Diego Friday 8/10 after work. I can assist in delivery to Phoenix (with some additional help).
1. I need to get the dog to me Friday around 4pm (can't leave work early to get to LBC and then to ABQ in time for what I need to do + I can't have a dog at my apartment all day - landlord won't have it).
2. I would need to drop off the dog in about 6 hours depending traffic/drive time (so late evening) somewhere around Chandler, Mesa Grande or SE Phoenix as I'm planning on cutting up from I-8 via AZ-347/AZ-87 - but it won't be too out of the way.
3. I don't know crap about dogs (which you know) other than they eat, pee, poop and chew on nearly everything - so some sort of manual other than walk the dog when I get gas would probably be helpful.
Since I'm headed that way - no charge for gas or anything - unless the dog pukes in my car then I might need a carwash ;)

Anyways if the current plan doesn't work out holler I can deliver Friday - You know where I am.

Thanks again to all that helped get this little guy a new and safe home. He deserves it as I'm sure his previous owner didn't.

Great job! And make sure that you get a couple of pics of that 9 year old when he first meets him. That's going to be priceless. Does this dog have a name yet?

We just got home about 30 minutes ago, and he rode in the Jeep like a champ. I'm taking him over to meet my nephew this evening. I'll be sure to snag some pictures!

Super big thanks to Wesel for saving this handsome lad and to Mike for donating his time and fuel to help out with the transportation. This is awesome, you guys!

No name yet, I'm gonna let my sister's family make that decision. :victory:

This is cool on so many levels.

I hope you don't mind but I cross posted this thread on my Facebook page.

It is a testament to the character of the people involved that this sweet soul has a new home.

You should all pat yourselves on the back. But I know you won't, because that's not what you're about.

Just got home. Trip went great and this pup is SOOOOO cute. Anyone who was on the fence about taking him... you SERIOUSLY missed out on a great pup!!! He traveled great and was warming up to us a little more near the end of the trip. Glad PPE and his family took this guy in and wesel123 for making the effort to catch him and get him back to health. The PO are total scum in my book and deserves the same that this guy went through before getting into the hands of the right people.

Trip was great outside of the 1.5 hours we parked on the I-8 freeway between El Centro and Ocotillo. Major, 2 car, off the freeway into a ravine crash. 2 life flight helos to get the people out of the area. Oh... it was 113* parked there. Highest temps we saw today was 115*. Way too hot for me... ever!!!

Here are a couple pics we snapped before PPE took him.
