Best sub $100 air compressor?

My first MV 50 worked fine with my 27" tires. I sold it with the vehicle. Then bought another MV-50, which I tried to use with my 31" tires. It kept blowing fuses and I eventually gave up on it. I think it got too hot from too long a run cycle when inflating from 20 psi to 50psi, exceeding its run time.

For a 31" tire, I would not go below a Viair 90P, still under $100:

"VIAIR's 90P is a small but powerful portable air compressor kit that is capable of inflating up to 31" tires quickly"

The fuse holders on the MV50 is a common problem. Real cheap and not properly crimped. I posted a couple of pages back about this. After a couple of times blowing fuses I spliced in a new fuse holder and it works great. I can now air up 4 32's in a row and the wires don't even warm up. Haven't blown a fuse since.

Yes, and in addition to the fuse holder problem I'd observe that 50 PSI seems a very high pressure (Max. for a load-range C) for many 4WDs unless their are heavy loads involved.
