Yakima 1A towers?

I want to run a roof rack so I can carry a canoe...since I don't want to spend a lot of money, I was thinking just some Yakima 1A towers with round load bars...does anyone run these on an 80 series...do I need the extensions to clear the factory rack?...and what are the longest bars people are running.

I have some 1A towers and bars if you want to try them out. You don't need the extensions if I recall. Give me a shout and I'll get them out of my storage unit.

Frontrunner water tank

Anyone running either the Frontrunner footwell tank or 50L slant tank behind the front seats of an 80 series...?
Starting to plan some drawers/sleeping platform and want to add a water tank...pics would be great...

Took a detour to work...

Decided to take the long way to work last week...well worth it...
Headed up into the peaks for some fall color...then over to the Little Colorado R. east of Cameron, AZ...up through the painted desert...to my home away from home on the rez...
Driving this truck just makes me smile...:) Just thought I'd share...

Not an 80 series, but I've got the 50L Upright tank sitting behind the REAR seats in my FJ60. It sits nicely in front of my Adventure Trailers 36 inch deep drawers. It doesn't displace much cargo space but it provides a substantial amount of water for our travels. I'm not sure how this would work if you have the rear seats down though. Perhaps the footwell tank would work better in your case. Nevertheless, I will post up some pictures next time I'm home with my Cruiser (I recall I had planned to post up pics of the drawers in the past but my Cruiser, unfortunately, seems to like to spend too much time in the shop lately)

Cheers

Pics of Frontrunner Tank with drawers

Here is a pic of the 50L Frontrunner Tank with the Adventure Trailer Drawers and my Engel on its drop slide. Like I said, this probably is not the best system if you want to drop your rear seats, but I really like how it works with the seat up (for those of you going that way).

Thanks!!!...
I think the upright or the slant 50 tanks are the direction I am headed. I plan to pull my rear seats so was planning on placing these tanks directly behind the front seats and building the storage system around them...
The thing I like about the foot well tank is it sits flush with the rear floor and could be built over with access just for temporary removal and cleaning.

Haven't done much this winter other than some PM. Truck is gettting a front axle/end rebuild soon...I did decide on adding a roof rack and went with the Yakima Mega Warrior rack for now...IMO the prices for the "boutique" racks are out of control and I had the mega warrior laying in my garage...added the extension and a third Yakima 1A tower...
Right now I am running 78" crossbars which are a bit long for the trees but allow me to run hullraisers and my bike trays outboard of the 1A towers...
I did not need the 1A tower extensions to clear the factory roof rack...Here is a picture of the rack after a quick visit to Prescott's Watson Lake...
