Hi lift jack

Today I tossed the three 1x6 blocks of wood I've been carrying around into the trash!

Once I got the sliders mounted I was ready for my Hi-Lift. With the NOAS fall run around the corner, today I made the purchase. I went with the 48" Hi-Lift All-Cast Jack and their jack mounting system. I've stolen this mounting idea from a couple other trucks on the board, but I've choosen a location that I don't beleive I've seen anyone else use.

Here is where I've choosen to mount it:

This location seems to get it up and out of the way better then any other location in my truck and seems to fit there really well. Here is a picture with the tonneau cover down.

Lookin' good Bigdog!

So what are your future mod plans?

thx, well today I did this:

saw a thread on CF where a couple guys had figured out a way to fill in the gap created when replacing the OEM airbox with a CAI and really liked that idea.

Next on the list is Radflo Coilovers and UCA's from PRG, and a tuner. Then I think that's going to be it for a while, until some new drive line products come out.

ICON should have their 2.5 coilover for the drop diff. lift kits soon.

yea, I spoke with Greg last week about 2.0 v 2.5 and he said that on the DB kits there is a clearance issue with the wider spring and one of the lift components. So I went with the 2.0 Radflo, not to mention the price at my length is crazy for the 2.5's, and he uses a 7/8" shaft for the longer 2.0's.

Anyway, the parts should be here by the end of next week and I hope to get them installed before URE.

Unichip PNP Installed

This weekend I installed the Unichip Plug N’ Play Computer. So far I am very happy with the results. The standard setting bascially makes my truck feel like it did before I put 33.6" tires on it, and the performance setting will through you back in the seat. :bike_rider:

I burned a little ricer today just for the heck of it. :)
He basically had to pull over and take some stickers off his car when i was done with him. :ar15:

Hey whatever works...go for it!

Well it turns out that this does not work so good for me afterall. It fit up there real nice and was not too bad to get at if and when you needed it, but the problem is that it puts a lot of wieght on that side wall and constantly bangs around making a ton of noise in the cab. Today I took it down and mounted it along one track. Its is much quieted and not stressing anything. Good news is I can always through it back up on the wall when I've got a large payload, but for DD it will remain mounted on the floor.

PRG UCA's and Radflo Coilovers

My new suspension parts arrived and were installed. I bought a set of PRG Upper Control Arms, and their Radflo Coilovers that were modified for a drop bracket lifted Frontier. The great news is that with the heim joints we can now dial in the alignment. The bad news is the shop that did the work failed to preload the springs so I had some complications. At this point I've got the truck set at the correct height and everything seems to be working great. But I do need to go back in and get realigned.

VERY nice...you'll really enjoy that front end setup from PRG. I'm calling him tomorrow to order his "soon to be released" 2.5" Radflo coilovers and a pair of UCA's for the lady's X. I'm giving her my 2.0's and I'm ordering Alcans for her rear.

Nice, Bigdog! I'm sure the ride is much better now. Any more articulation?

unfortunately I have not had a chance to get in the dirt since they were installed, but there should be considerably more articulation. These struts are several inches longer then the stock ones and with these UCA's they can fully extend.

I also currently have the front sway bar removed, so that is not hindering anything either. Although I may reinstall the bar. The truck rides great on the highway, but I worry about fully locked turns on grade. For me it feels a little too independant, but that might just be in my head.
