What in the world was International thinking? At over $90,000 you could get your hands on one of these, and I am sure Mod the crap out of this behemoth and make a worthy expedition vehicle, thus the reason for this post. I am sure with the amount of payload and some extensive modification to the rear bed, it could be a pretty good base (if you win the Lotto). The best part of it is the engine, With the International engine you can buy "drop in cylinders and new pistons with out having to remove the engine. Plus with most parts being common in most "Big Rigs" parts in other countries shouldn't be much of an issue.

Ford's F650 is pretty crazy too! I'll stick with my lil ol Nissan.

I heard somewhere that they only get like 7mpg.

Those were running all over 'Vegas during last years SEMA show. They had a couple at the show as well....I am not impressed. The entire drivetrain hangs really low...in fact the driveshafts are so low that I would be afraid to get it on anything with bigger than basketball sized rocks. Granted, they are not meant to be rock crawling rigs, but I see little reason to have fragile drivetrain components that low, other than to cut corners when solving drivetrain geometry issues. Besides, can you imagine trying to squeeze that thing between a rock and a fallen tree?

No, but I can imagine some nutcase with his trucker hat in effect, driving over a rock and a fallen tree.

Clearly just a tow rig. Dualie's perform very poorly off road on anything but a dry wide trail.

If you want a fullsize off road truck that can haul lotsa ass and lotsa gear, check out the Man Group's L90. These are proven off road vehicles in the Dakar.

I don't think camouflageing that thing is gonna help to hide it anywhere. Especially with that pretty and awesomely cool huge CHROME grill. :hehe:

That grill is probably Scott's favorite part about that rig :hehe:

Yeah, I watch/listen to the news in the mornings when I am getting ready for work and I remember them mentioning it and showing pictures of it several months ago. At least I am not alone in recallin this bit of information.

Hey, either way it sure is a funky truck. I still can't believe Internation make this thing... For the price, a MAN or similar might be a better choice as an expedition rig. I thought this post would stir up some conversaion and it sure did! :hehe:
