Agreed. I have three such boxes of different sizes/configurations, and now I'm thinking they all need the same treatment. If only "regular" paint would stick better when they flex...

I have painted the holes with two coats top and bottom. I'm letting the paint get a good cure then insulating the whole floor with peel and stick roofing patch like I did for the wheel wells. That should be enough to seal all the holes I have developed.
I have to say I could strangle a Ford Engineer over this one. The cab is riddled with unnecessary and unplugged holes. Of course water was going to come through, and once it did it was trapped by the shredded cotton underlayment until the floor rotted. Totally predictable and easily avoidable.
I have to say I am so glad I caught this right now. Any longer and it would have been a total disaster.
FYI a quart would have done the whole cab floor with 2 coats. I sprung for a gallon and will be doing the entire frame and what I can of the moving parts for both my vehicles.
Also I have tried every kind of heavy duty solvent available commercially and on the remediation job site I've been on and nothing will take the POR-15 off once it sets in your skin. Have a bottle of lava soap handy! I nearly got stuck with a Hitler stash for weeks!

Yeah good stuff, but moisture cured. As soon as it hits your skin your done. It doesn't come off. I got some on my face last time.....
I have used this stuff by the gallons over the years. It won't be coming off till the skin under it dies and allows it to flake off. Nothing short of a grinder with a wire wheel is removing it from you skin. I wouldn't recommend it. For a good laugh do a google on "hootus". Different product, but similar problem, and whole lot funnier (if it isn't you) than getting some on your hands.

I remember reading that when it was new. I was heavy into my Jeep restos back then and Herculiner and POR-15 were staples in my work. Early on before I learned my lesson I had that POR-15 everywhere. Hair, hands, face, even managed to glue together the corner of one of my eyes with that crap. BUT, my Hootus remained free from the preservation properties of POR thank you very much.
Yeah, it was a hoot.

Well 3 days later it is mostly gone. Seems like a good final line of defense is to dampen your hands or be sweating up a storm...
The sealant tape sticks to the POR really well. Maybe too well at times. I've been working around the clock again, but I did manage to get one roll down this evening which basically got one layer down on the passenger side. So 4 rolls would do a normal ambulance with 2 layers. I'll need 5 with my extension and have some left over.
I did figure out that there is a hole in the wheel well near the top which is where all the water was coming from on both sides. Problem solved.
I'm starting to notice dampness in the cab coming from the rear wall. I know that the seal to the box will eventually need to be replaced in any ambulance, but has anyone seen a link for these seals? I haven't come across one yet.
