We had such a good time this week end we are going camping next week end! :wings: Hopefully the snow will be gone by then. I will take more pics. We all love the pics.

Awesome pics Blaz! Where abouts is the area you were 4by4ing in? Your Blazer looks very capable. And yes you are right, we ALL LOVE THE PICS!:victory:

It is about an hour east of Winnipeg on crown land. How is that for a vauge answer. :smiley_drive: You know we always have to be careful what we post on the net! :Wow1:

The blazer does pretty good, but we all know it could always be a little better.

On the to do list;

-rear bumper with tire carrier
-selectable eaton rear locker
-wire up the 3 front Hellas
-fire extingusher mount
-.......and so on

Ok, I will try my hand at a trip report.

For Good Friday we decided to head out camping. The area is only about 1.5 hours from the city, but around here that is pretty remote.

On our way into camp we came across a wash out on the road.

Crossing was OK because of the front bumper mod.

We set up camp fairly close to the "road", again being so remote it wasn't a problem.

Some used tents. I used the back of the blazer. That is why the spare and cooler are on the roof.

It was only 2 days but it was a good time. I will see if I can get some of the wheeling pics from the buddys.

Please let me know what I can do to make the story better. What did I leave out that you want to know?

I think it was a good little report Blaz. Sure some pics from the wheeling could have been cool, but sometimes you have to concentrate on driving. Wild drinking pics are fun too, but potentially dangerous.....:ylsmoke:

So it has been time to catch up on some maintenance. Today I replaced the rear brakes and parking brake shoes. The parking brakes were no problem, but the rear calipers what a PITA. ( I will have a pic for Stein. LOL )

I have 110 000kms on the original pads which is good, but the slide pins froze! I had to drill and tap the pin and use a slide hammer. This worked for 3 of the 4, but the fourth I had to get a map gas torch to free it. The good news it the back brakes are all done, the bad news is the fronts should also be done.

I also replaced the rear glass lift shocks. At least one of the jobs went easily! :sombrero:

Steini inspired pics! :sombrero:

Clock spring was the first problem (air bag light was on).

Next was the vent valve (check engine light was on)

Then the glass gas shocks.

This was by far the biggest PITA! The rear caliper slide pins. If you own a S series with rear discs check these pins are free. I replaced all brakes while I was there including the parking brake. Should be good for another 110 000kms. :wings:
