Box Rocket '03 DC Tacoma Build

I absolutely love your truck, but I have to say this is the first thing you've done to this truck that I don't like. (Besides that racing stripe you took off the same day haha) The misaligned corner lights are the nail in the coffin for me.

I haven't seen a glass fender that I like for our truck yet. Too bad nobody makes a first gen Tacoma glass fender comparable to the toyotafiberglass.com fender flairs for the 95 truck. I like that it just has a larger wheel opening and a flared wheel arch rather than the entire fender raised and widened.

But the paint does look better. I seem to remember someone putting a snorkel on with the glass fenders....

EDIT: Oh ya, saw your post on TW about Zam's snorkel... It seems like his corners line up pretty well ?

I'm not done with the corner lights yet. It will all straighten out I just need more time with them. I actually wanted the wider flare, which is why I got these. Wanted the better tire coverage.

Shoulda left the snorkel, and not done the glass. Your truck though.
Not "expo" enough without the snorkel? :) I knew this community wouldn't be a fan of the fenders. That's ok.

Oh, I've also been looking at some one-piece headlights to replace the stock ones. That would take care of the misaligned corner lights as well as the blurry lenses I have now.

Nothing about not being expo enough or not. Your truck has been known for so long with the snorkel, that it is just weird not seeing it. Regardless, your truck is still ************, snorkel or not.

From the pics it doesn't look like the fenders give you any more coverage if any down by the sliders than the stock flares. IMHO that is where most of the crap comes from. I'm curious to see if they keep the side of you truck any cleaner.

I think it looks good. Yes, you can see the passenger corner light is off. I like my stuff to look good, but function comes first.

I don't know where I saw it, but some had a small write up on modifying the snorkel for glass fenders.

Kartek has polyurethane fenders that seem tougher. They keep saying they'll make them for the Tacomas but I'm still waiting.

Tweaked the fenders a bit more last night and got the corner lights much closer to being lined up. Still not perfect and probably won't be able to get it exactly right but it's close for now until I swap in some one-piece headlights in the future. Also got the air intake re-routed back into the engine compartment. Using a second cone filter in addition to the filter in the factory air box. I'll try this for a while and see how it does.

updated photos with a little better alignment of the corner lights. The bottom of the fenders where it hits the grill is still a little off so that's the next piece to massage a little. I fully understand that the majority of people on this board are not a fan of glass fenders and my truck is already beyond a "subtle" stock-ish build. Oh well. I like it.

Looks awesome! Anything without 'glass just looks boring now :)
