Looks like the electric bicycle has been given a dose of macho. This is the Grace E-Bike. Despite the fact we gave Germany David Hasselhoff, they were kind enough to give us this awesome machine in return. Electric bikes generally have been nothing but nerd on wheels, but this has promise. I noticed at this year's Interbike in Vegas, the e-bike phenomenon was booming, but really searching for the cool factor. Boo even offered a bamboo e-bike, but it looked weird. Weird as in monkey wearing a hat, sort of weird. The Grace E-bike actually looks slick.

Options include: A superior attitude at the company bike rack, and neat-o whizzing noises.

All this for the unfortunate price of $9,000. Yikes.

e bikes are viable and have been for some time. $9000 thats steeper than the seat tube! most hi end bikes are way overpriced.

That is a slick looking rig. Is the battery on or in the down tube? Can't tell what is attached to the down tube.

The other day.
The ferry just arrived, I'm waiting for bikes, walk-ons and vehicles to disembark so I can load. Walk-ons and bikes disembark at the same time. The 15 or so bike commuters have a mad dash for the first right turn, just upon leaving the pier, that leads to a quiet road away from the hwy and the cars barreling down on them to get ahead of every other car before the merge. Well, the bike that got the hole shot was a women in a pant suit, dress shoes and a helmet riding high on her head. I had to double take, she had serious gap on the other bike commuters, she was cookin. Damn, if it wasn't a E-bike! Way to go! Bringing the bike commute to the masses. No sweating, no bike specific clothing, just hop on and go. The more people we get on bikes the safer it is for everyone.

That reminds me of an old Cannondale TT bike sans the Scott clip on areo bars. When you said German I wasn't shocked at the 9K price tag, the exchange rate doesn't help either. I'm sure Cancellara already has one ;-)

The price is not really out of line for anything cutting edge.When I purchased my first Cannondale touring bike (still have it, an ST500 s/n 000006) a Klein titanium (which was my other choice but even more bleeding edge than the ST500) was in the $4000 range while a Ford Ranger was less than $9000.
