It was great meeting everyone, and it was an awesome trail! I never would've tried this without Mark's local knowledge and assessment that the Subaru could make it.
And the Forester did make it, with just a couple of bumps and bruises, thanks to the excellent spotting (as well as some rock stacking) provided by AZCPP and Ursidae69 down Satan's Slide! The rest of the trail was pretty extreme for the Forester as well, but most of it didn't require spotting, just careful wheel placement, and using the front bumper as a ramp on a couple of the rock ledges.
Damage Report:
-scrapes on front offroad bumper and tow hooks
-dent in oil sump guard
-loose exhaust heat shield still rattling
-I haven't noticed any ill effects from resting the whole vehicle on the catalytic converter!
I'll get some photos posted up tonight. Ursidae69's two photos #7 and #9 really capture how it felt going down Satan's slide! It was quite extreme for the little station wagon!
