Thought I’d post some pictures from my last trip to British Colombia’s mainland. I set off from Victoria with no plan just a full tank of gas and some coffee.
But first the rig...it’s a 2007 V8 4Runner. I bought it in Halifax NS and brought it to the west coast via my dream route, Colorado and Utah then all the way down to Mexico and up the coast to BC.
I drove as far as Kaslo and found myself on a FSR with an old fire lookout at the top. I got directions at a gas station, although the fella advised against it saying the switchbacks were “too tight” and asked me to send him a picture if I made it up.
The trail was about 13km’s bottom to top, and the last two switchbacks took some manouvering. After that it’s a few more km’s to the lookout tower with some amazing views.
