Two reasons I don't want a hard bed shell is 1.) I use the bed all the time for hauling things, and 2.) I roll down the back window all the time. I've always been interested in the soft topper because it allows me to continue to the bed like I've been doing. I'm interested to hear of your experiences.
Well, for the short term that I’ve had the softtopper, I absolutely love it. Once I have the bed rack built, I’ll be losing one of the functions of it (putting it down), but I’ve used that function once and it’s quite nice, I’d recommend one to anybody. The only downside is that there is absolutely no locking the back of it. Other than that, 50% of the time the sides are rolled up with the front window tucked behind the back seats, the other 50% it’s closed up, and it’s nice because you can hardly see in it at all. I suppose another con, your rear view becomes useless, but I was expecting that.
