After a bunch of temperature testing with an infrared I could not see colder temperatures on the outside of the ARB 47L compaired to the kitchen counter it was sitting on. It lost a degree around the control panel and two thru the top but only after days of running and testing. If it was sitting in the sun or in a hot vehicle it would be best to have a cover to keep the heat off of it. The real heat came from the compressor compartment. That heat migrates into the fridge and warms the shelf. The fan and coils needed some tweeks as well. Now it runs a lot less and my batteries stay charged a day longer.
