Building my own sliders and plans for LR

I'm curious to see how the frame arms weld onto the bottom of the sliders. Do you lose clearance? Do those sliders basically bridge the body to the frame? Does that cause problems?

Can I borrow a ladder to stand on so I can see that whole image at once? ;)

it's as simple as making a trianglular peice so that it will weld to the bottom of the sill piece and the end of the DOM tubing. not my desgin. i took the picture from roxtar fab's website.

Brad (Roxtar) has a great design, and they´re strong as can be.

I plan to start as soon as I get a little more money in the pocket. I have all the measurements, the design is being drawn out and will be test fitting hopefully soon after that.

If everything goes well, I may sell these out to the Rover brethren.

After the sliders, it'll be the bumpers, but thats for another day:Wow1:

That is what Michaels was planning on doing also...haha! Go design me a good rear bumper for my D1. Something that will complement my RTE front and be able to defend me against these crazy drivers here in New Orleans.

yeah good luck with that... it's gonna take a lot more work than you realize now. i thought the same thing. got two sliders deep and a rear bumper in and haven't done anything since. of course that's with only working when i go back to birmingham, which isn't often, but it's still a pain in the ***. i wouldn't do it for anything other than fun. if making money is the goal, you're not going to make near enough to justify it to yourself.

Yeah, you can't make money doing this stuff unless you make it your full time job and set up a shop accordingly.
