Bumper & tire carrier for FJ80?

I'm holding out for the Slee dual swingout, it should be similar to their 100 series bumper/tire carrier.
Last I heard they had a protoype built and were working out some minor details.

please keep the comparisons and pics coming. This is one thing that I'm still undecided on for my 80!

4x4Labs. Tight fit, HD spindles, excellent clamps, modular mounts, fendor protection, clean integrated receiver. Nothing I've seen for 60s or 80s comes close.

You can get dual tire carriers, fuel cans, cooler, propane, ladder, bike rack, anything you can think of. If you want custom mods, Luke will do it. He loves variety and design.

They come pre-built or in kit form.

The price on all of the bolt on's gave me sticker shock. I printed out pix of the IPOR, 4x4 Labs, Kaymar and Slee, figured out which features/parts of each one I liked best and then took them to a local fab guy. He built me exactly what I wanted for 1/2 the price of the others.

4X4Labs gets my vote as well. Sturdy, good protection, swing aways are top notch and all around very well designed. I like the 80 series design more than my 60's.

I agree. My bumper cost about the same as a similar 4X4 labs bumper in kit form. However mine was fully finished and installed.

Don't over look the local guy.

I recognize my Bundu Boxes and our HM box cover in that pic! Not to hijack a thread, but how're you liking them?

I like the swingout a lot. I need one for my 100.

Found one. Driveway shot, but you can see more:

(I was trying out the Trasharoo on the spare)

Looks great Roger. Is that a cooler holder or a jerry can holder on the passenger side, and is that tray and the spare on the same swing out arm?

I really like them. The latches-which were my only concern, have proven to not be any sort of issue to this point. I use them on nearly every trip. I'd like to pick up 4 more.

There are two separate swingouts, the PS is a jerry can holder. Holds 3 cans...I feel like it really 'finished' my truck.

Funny I thought 10 gallons extra would finish my rig too and be plenty of gas. Now I'm looking at the 38 gal Manafre tank for a Maze trip next year and North Rim trip the year after.

Luk4Mud: FWIW: I went all the way into Horseshoe Canyon>Dollhouse>Hite on a tank, though I did have an extra 10 gallons...I didn't need it.

Beautiful area out there.
