Bumper with swing out or no?

If I did it all over again...

... my ideal swingout would be a 50/50 with a hinge by each tail light, each side carrying 2 aluminum AT fuel can holders. That way, you could carry any mix you need of fuel or water cans depending on the trip. 20 Gallons is a LOT of extra fuel or water and would almost double the range of my vehicle. Or, you could carry nothing at all or even fire wood in those if you do it right. Multi-purpose, configured to the mission.

The spare? That sucker would go back under the truck, putting more weight down low and improving my rearward visibility...

...YMMV :costumed-smiley-007

Been watching this thread with great interest. Weighing the pro and cons and after talking to a local tank fabricator I’m seriously thinking about an extended range fuel cell under the bed and the spare out back on a swing out carrier. So… here’s the question. Who makes swing out carriers for the Tacoma? I am aware of CBI but would like to shop around if at all possible.

Thanks,
dd
