Oh yeah, thanks for the reminder Stoffregen.

That grill/headlights combo is awesome. Is it a bolt on affair? Minor modifications? Total refab? Give us a little write up on that if you don't mind.

Thanks guys!

First gen headlights were relatively easy with the stock headlight buckets. Just had to drill 3 holes on each side and mount them. The stock adjusters work fine. I've seen people use camaro buckets too. The grille is another story. It's currently being held by 2 bolts. I need to see if I can secure it better. I'm going to either try and hear it and bend it to follow the hood better or cut it and bend it. It looks good in pics and the concept is cool but it's not perfect... Yet.

Thanks for posting up the roller paint jobs articles. As far as UV goes, yes it will be garaged most of its life so I'm not worried about that. Never heard or even thought about that, but I guess it makes sense.

Worked on repainting the 4Runner side emblems and trim tonight.

Did you ever see the graphics we made for this '87 4Runner we designed? They're the original pattern but we cut them out of digital camo vinyl. They would look cool on your truck.

LOVE that truck. I'm definitely going to do a similar vinyl job. Haven't decided 100% if I'm going to keep it simple with flat black vinyl or get a little more creative. I like the digital camo!

Yeah, there is $400 just in materials for that camo job. The vinyl wasn't cheap, but then we bought the best vinyl we could get our hands on.

How about TRD colors, or a grayscale TRD type graphic?

New windshield installed. The installer had a cool seal he put on it so I could go without the awful chrome trim. Score.

Wow--you're going all-out! Love the paintwork and the retro touches.

Why not run the Treadwrights on your expedition?

Thanks! I'm not 100% sold on the treadwrights to be honest. They're treating me well so far, but on a cross country trip far from home I don't want to have tire issues... I'll get something more well known. The Land Rover guys had a multiple tire punctures so I know the TAT can be rough on tires...

Got more progress done this weekend. Flares installed, snorkel partially installed, still need to run the piping to the intake, put all my weatherstripping and door seals in, and put the new roof rack rails on the topper. I also started buffing the paint but I was having some issues burning through the paint :/ I may just leave it a little orange peely and call it a day. Im tired of paint and I wanna play with the truck! Gotta install my new 4.88 gears and locker and sliders still!

Nothing new to report on my 4Runner, spent the weekend putting a leveling lift and brakes on my wife's truck. Bilstein 5100's.

Enjoying the build and what you have done. The windshield and new seal turned out nice. I know what you mean about the chrome. I sometimes like it for nostalgic reasons, but some pieces just look like crap.

Thanks guys. As far as the spool, the only reason I'm running it is that the 4Runner is not my daily! Lol. I've driven welded diff cars before. It's not that bad, but it can get old in certain situations. It's cheap and effective for a rig that will hopefully spend most it's life off road.
