Nice FJ for sure! Did you happen to buy that in Santa Rosa? Everytime I come home from work, I would see a Army Green FJ in the lot off of 101, and now no more....

No, I missed the one in Santa Rosa. I'd seen it too, but when I called them it was sold.

Hey congrats! Though I have to admit I had a tinge of sadness to hear you are selling the 62, but then again I am not the one paying the gas bill for it :sombrero:

NSSE was the first thing I thought when I saw those OE Bridgestone tires on the steel rims (and not the BFG A/Ts the Trail Teams normally come with)...

I guess someone finally hooked 'Nessie'! Great catch!

It's nice, but don't sell the 62. You'll rue that day for sure. The new will wear off of the FJC soon enough, but the class of the 62 will last forever.

Aw man... You guys are making me feel bad.. I've had the FJ62 for over ten years now. It's been great, but I need to move on. It's really sad though.

Today I dropped the FJC off to get the tow hitch installed.

I drove the FJ62 to work. Man, I love this Land Cruiser. It's still a pleasure to drive and just feels right. For what it is it runs so well and handles really good. The heater works great, ect.. It will feel like I'm losing a big part of my life when I do sell it.

ARB Fridge installed...

Got a basic install of the fridge. Need to figure out power to the rear since I don't have the power outlet back there.

Michael,
You can piggy back on the wiring harness behind the boomer - easy to hook up a 12 volt receptacle. Simpler than running all the way to the front battery/fuse block.

In my experience this did not supply sufficient voltage to run the fridge...

I hard wired my fridge into the truck using a Blue Sea box.
I ran 10g wire to the fridge.

I left ~6' of wire tucked into the passenger side plastic so I can run the fridge out of the vehicle when sleeping in the back.

Yes I've heard of this and have started to investigate. My concern is the same as C-Fish is saying below.

Thanks C-Fish, This was also in the back of my mind. I wonder if your fridge draws more than mine. I have a older ARB/Engel MT35. I like your fuse box setup. What is the thingy to the left of it in the picture? Is that a low voltage cutoff or a breaker?
How did you run the power cable to the back?
Great idea about the extra cable to put the fridge outside.

Definitely a circuit breaker like those used commonly in car audio installs. I've got one in my VW's system. Not necessarily 'cheap', but a very reliable 75A/100A/150A/200A disconnect that is always resettable, unlike fuses. Mine has worked fine for almost 10yrs. They can be sourced from many car audio sites and dealers.

Not sure about the power draw...

To the left is a 100amp breaker as stated.

I ran the wiring in through the drivers side, across to the passenger side behind the dash and down to the back in the door sill track.
Very easy to do, the FJ comes apart easily and has plenty of room for additional wiring.

I then cut apart the factory DC cord (confirmed +) and wired it directly into the new wires coming from the Blue Sea box.

One other trick; I have the AC cord plugged into the fridge as well, when I am parked in the garage I run the fridge off of house power...The fridge will automatically switch to AC (preferred).
Wil from Sierra Expeditions gets credit for that idea.

The fridge is on 24/7, I keep it full of water and a few 'other' drinks...:ylsmoke:

Is there some sort of access point to get the wires into the cab of the vehicle that I should be looking for?

Great info by the way. Thanks!
