Nice FJ for sure! Did you happen to buy that in Santa Rosa? Everytime I come home from work, I would see a Army Green FJ in the lot off of 101, and now no more....
It's nice, but don't sell the 62. You'll rue that day for sure. The new will wear off of the FJC soon enough, but the class of the 62 will last forever.
Michael,
You can piggy back on the wiring harness behind the boomer - easy to hook up a 12 volt receptacle. Simpler than running all the way to the front battery/fuse block.
Yes I've heard of this and have started to investigate. My concern is the same as C-Fish is saying below.Michael,

Thanks C-Fish, This was also in the back of my mind. I wonder if your fridge draws more than mine. I have a older ARB/Engel MT35. I like your fuse box setup. What is the thingy to the left of it in the picture? Is that a low voltage cutoff or a breaker? In my experience this did not supply sufficient voltage to run the fridge...
I hard wired my fridge into the truck using a Blue Sea box.
I ran 10g wire to the fridge.

I left ~6' of wire tucked into the passenger side plastic so I can run the fridge out of the vehicle when sleeping in the back.

How did you run the power cable to the back?
Great idea about the extra cable to put the fridge outside.
I ran the wiring in through the drivers side, across to the passenger side behind the dash and down to the back in the door sill track.
Very easy to do, the FJ comes apart easily and has plenty of room for additional wiring.
