CADAC / Front Runner Safari Chef 30 Reviews

Michael Brown

You followed me, so now we're both lost
I've been looking at an alternative propane stove to my Camp Chef.
The CC is fantastic and puts out tons of heat, but a lot of my cooking is a single pot/pan, which leaves an empty burner most of the time.

The Safari Chef 30 looks to be a very well engineered package with all that you need to cook or grill.
However, I cannot find a rated BTU output very easily. Not that it is the only measure, but it would help me get an idea compared to my stove output.

Has anyone used one of these for extended periods and was it a sufficient replacement for standard 2-burner stove duties and grilling?

Specs say 1.8 kilowatts which equals 6142 btu/hr. If that’s correct it’s pretty low.

Front Runner had the Cadac Safari 30 on sale for $75, so I took a chance on it. For that price, it is comparable to Colemans stoves.
I liked that it had all the cooking options included without needing a separate pot or grill. Most of my recipes are single pot so second burners go unused for me. I'll update more with use.

I have had about 3 different Coleman camp stoves, propane powered. They all worked pretty well. Currently have the 3 burner Cabelas/Bass Pro. So far I love it. Burners are no joke. 25,000 btu each for the outer 2. Center burner is 8000 btu I think.
