Calling all Ford Rangers!

Question for our Aus Ranger owners. How does the rear seating space in the ranger compare to the Holden / GM Colorado we now have in the states?
I'm really tempted by the GM here but its a little tight vs our Subaru rear seat for the kids. I had a ranger way way back loved it. So the idea of Ford getting back into the US market with the ranger would be really nice.. Though a 6spd MT Wildtrac still probably will be a pipe dream.
I know guys who bought Jeep Rubicons just to have a Manual.. its near desperate measures here in the states for the row your own drivers these days.
