Camel Trophy Kalimantan Documentary

Documentary about the '96 Camel Trophy across Kalimantan, Indonesia. One of the best docs I've ever seen for international team style expedition, and only an hour of your time to watch. Enjoy!

This was the last Camel Trophy to adhere to the traditional formula of teams undertaking the route as a convoy. Like its predecessors it will be remembered for the camaraderie and team spirit generated amongst the crews as they worked together to overcome the odds. Once this concept was lost, critics say the event never truly regained its magical qualities, to say nothing of its toughness, character and reputation as the "Ultimate Adventure".

Great adventure of Kalimantan, a curiosity, Spain was the only country that included two teams in the Camel Trophy had their own selection to a national team and the team of the Canary Islands. I tried to find out why they did it, but never found anyone who knew the answer for sure.

Fantastic video. What a time in overlanding! The best vehicles (70 Series, 80 Series, Discoveries, RRC, etc.), really favorable travel conditions (particularly in Africa) and the great events like Camel Trophy.
