Camo Clad

Hey guys! Anyone have any experience with Camo Clad? I have seen the products on the internet and liked the idea.

I have a '97 Grand Cherokee but I don't like the plastic cladding that came from the factory. What I wanted to do was remove the cladding and mounting hardware. I know I would be left with numerous holes and was thinking of wrapping the rocker panels and lower quarters with Camo Clad. No protection aspect, except maybe from paint chips :)

Anybody have experience with this product? Let me know what you think of the idea. Any pics would be appreciated.

Hey

I've seen vehicles with it done and it seems like fairly durable stuff but I would be concerned about the many holes which would appear underneath the camo clad. I would call the MFR. about the best way to deal with the holes. Once those where plugged, I would say go for it.

Buddy of mine did it , but he welded up all the holes, ground them down and primered them before he put the camo on. He did one side first and the holes showed up big time. Later someone else told him he could of used metal tape to cover them and it would of worked ?? Not sure but its an idea

I had an 03 Honda Rubicon ATV I did in Camo Clad's vinyl and it turned out very nice. The Camo Clad help up very well. I did a lot of brush busting with that ATV and never tore through to the plastic. If you wrap it around sharp corners, I suggest wrapping around to the backside if possible.

Any sign shop that does vehicle wraps should be able to get you the pattern you desire. The sign shop I checked with charges @ $10 per square foot of material with your choice of prints installed. You could wrap the cladding and reinstall.
