Campaign furniture, anyone interested?

For some of the older members , you'll remember there was a company called campaign furniture co. They made campaign tables and chairs , but sadly they have gone out of business. I was fortunate enough to find a fellow expo member who was selling his, and I purchased them. I've been the envy of all my friends.

In my youth I used to be a cabinet maker/furniture maker. My friends knowing this have pressured me to come "out of retirement" , and make a few of these! As anyone here knows , one off items are expensive. It cost as much to make three as it does 10, "labor wise".

So my question is, is anyone here interested in this campaign table? If so, I will make a few tables. This will not be an on going process. I'll probably do one run and that would be it.

The table was designed to hold a campaign chair. I store my melvill & moon chair in it, or it can store one of the original campaign furniture chairs.

I'll be making these out of mohagany , and cherry. There will not be any other wood options.
So....... Anyone interested in something like this?
I'm trying to find some info on the last retail price of these. Once I've figured out the material cost I will post what the cost will be.

Yes, absolutely unless the cost causes me to have an aneurysm. Of course, we would need chairs to go along with it... :)

Haha, as you we'll know, the cost of campaign furniture often gives people aneurysms! My wife almost killed me when she found out how much I spent on my melvill & moon set! I will try to be kind, when it comes to pricing. Interesting that you ask about chairs. I just sent my Melvill & and Moon to a fellow friend who has a tac shop with heavy duty sewing machines. He's going to reproduce the canvas seat and back. The rest of the chair is simple turnings on a lathe. When I get back the canvas I will see how difficult it will be to make.
It just seems to me that someone here in the states can make this for less than $700.00 a piece , that's what I paid for the chair.
Anyway, I'll keep everyone apprised to the progress.

I had always planned to "treat" myself to a set of chairs and table after my my full overland setup was complete. I didn't know Campaign Furniture Co. went out of business. That is sad to hear.

I won't make this run most likely but best of luck. Someone needs to keep these on the market here at reasonable prices.

Ive always had a soft pot for the old style camp furniture. What's the family discount? Just kidding, much to nice to be bouncing around in the back of the Tahoe Taco.

Haha, family rate! How about I just bring you a set when we do the Teton run! Consider it payment for planning the trip!

Hey guys , I don't want to get off track here, I'm only seeing if there is interest specifically for the pictured item. If interested please post, I'm going to probably start these next week. If there is no interest, I'm only making 3 for friends, I have no plans on making these for sale regularly. I'm just trying to see if there was anyone from the expo community that would want one. Thanks

I'd be interested. Also curious how you find the angle of the back of the m&m chair you have? Too upright?
