It's hard to beat first-gen Tacomas and Tundras for do-it-all, super reliable vehicles. Add second and third-gen 4Runners in, as well, but don't tell anyone; finding clean examples of those older trucks is getting harder and harder.
The day I brought our 1996 Shadow Cruiser home...only took about 4 hours to get it loaded. The two rear corners were rotten and the jacks were pulling away, the previous owners had it tucked back in a barn on a slant and had the jacks beyond extended and the truck still wouldn't fit under...lots of sweating and words of "encouragement" and I finally got it on with help from some ratchet straps and the barn. Pretty sure this is the first time the awning has ever been opened, previous owners bought it used in 1996 and said they had never opened it.
From a recent trip out with the PW/habitat, and a shot from April winter camping.
added l-track to the passenger side of the bed to hold down the fridge and ”cabinet” unit, and played with the add-on room. Pretty stoked. Taking kiddo and wife out on our first legit family camping trip this weekend.
