Just picked up this '93 Phoenix Pop Up over the weekend. It is in very good condition for its age....stove and refrigerator work well. The little water pump need replacing. The main reason is to take the family of 5 to Yellowstone next summer so that we don't have to tow a trailer (and the wife doesn't want to sleep in tents with the bears
! ). As you can see, it is a full 8ft, and looks a little gawdy sitting on my 5.5ft short bed truck. This camper only weighs 850 dry, so I'm not too worried about the weight on the tailgate. Although, if anyone has any additional comments on that, please share. Besides fixing the water pump, I need to come up with a good way to tie down the camper. When I brought it home, I just used heavy duty tie down/ratchet straps for the 3 hour journey........camper did not move at all. I'd feel more comfortable with a better tie down system for the full trip to Yellowstone and back.
