from that link, it's 79" along the trucks roofline, and comes out from the truck 85"

does that make sense? Kinda hard to visualize...

closed in it's cover, its probably about 80"-82" due to the material if I remember correctly...It's been a while since I measured it though, amigo.sir.dude.

Love this awning. Never had buyer's remorse at all.

Doing other things like beach picnic's, soccer, etc. too, now though and was thinking about getting a free-standing setup that could multi-task.

One of those dome-shaped jobbies from REI probably. (I know, i know they support the sierra club...too bad..haha!:sombrero:)

So if I'm understanding this right, the poles are built in to the awning and drop down?

correct, everything is self-contained and simply folds down and extends. Two poles outward to support the edges, and then two poles downward from the end to set the height.

You can use the guy lines supplied to stake it down in high winds (fiesta island, for example. This awning worked very well there in fairly robust winds)

:) cheers

Would you consider shipping? Any guesstimates on cost to do so to the east coast?

-Sam

This setup weighs 23lbs shipped. My zip is 92019, its about 80-81" long closed, and about 5-6" in diameter.

That'll all get you darn close as far as estimating shipping via ground.

I'll be honest and say that I'll likely focus on selling locally, but if its still here in a few weeks, I'd definitely consider shipping. Just have to find the right container.

Can you post pics of the brackets you made? I'd like to see if they'll work for my rack and tent setup. Thanks
