Camping Stove Recomendations

Ok, I am in the market for a new camp stove. I currently have a colman unit, not sure which model. It has served me well, and will probebly last forever.
My only problem is that from time to time I tend to cook for everyone on the trip, and my colemen is too small to accomidate two full size pots. So, what would you guys recomend? I would like it to accomidate at least 2 full size pots/frying pans, run off propane and be able to hook up to a 4.7 lbs tank. I think that is all the requirements. Oh, and pictures and link to where I can purchase the stoves recomended would be great.

I was having the same issue, when we would go on boy scout outing where we wanted to cook as one big group the little green coleman stoves did not cut it. I bought the Campchef Big Gass Stove. I love it, it has 3 burners @ 30K BTU ea. 90K BTUs along with a full width griddle, I feel like a short order cook, I will have eggs, bacon and pancakes all going on one stove at the same time. Did I mention that I love it. We still take the 14 year old coleman with us on small trips but the new CampChef is getting used more and more. If 3 burners is too much they have several models including 2 burner ones. The only thing I would change is the grate does not come off so it is a little hard to clean. This model comes with a 2 burner grill that is very nice. :chef:

I also like the Camp Chef three-burner 90K BTU stove for large groups.

I got mine at Costco for $99 several years ago. I don't use it much anymore, but only because I'm doing less large-group feeding lately.

It's also heavy and quiet large, so you'd want to measure your stowage options to be sure it fits. Mine I hauled around in an open Sankey trailer. Before the trailer, I hung a rack off the front of my ARB bumper. (You can see it in the picture above ... very Clampett).

I have looked at the Camp-chef stoves. I was concerned it might be to big but hadn't counted it out yet. The other stoves are good choices as well. Everytime I do a seach on the web I get so many results my head starts to spin.

I have not seen one in person so I can't get a good picture on size. However I do like the idea of one stove/barbaque instead of two units. Does anyone have this model? If so I would love to hear your thoughts good or bad.

My nephew has one, but I don't know how much he's used it. Mostly he grills at my parents house.

I wouldn't like it. To me it's like an outdoor version of the George Foreman grills. No open flame, so no flame-broiled. All the grease runs off, taking the flavor with it...

But keep in mind that I'm a charcoal kind of guy.

partner makes a good product but i just dont need to be a sheep and spend that much on a stove. camp chef also makes a tabletop version that is much bigger than a coleman size but w/o the extra bulk of the legs, i mention this cause some or many of us use a table or tailgate or just have a stove mounted to something else permanent like.

I always thought these cast stoves from Cabelas looked pretty cool.

Also, I know your talking stoves here, but if you don't already have a camp dutch oven, you should get one. I do almost all of my dinner cooking on it the fire pit and only pull the small stove out for heating water to make coffee in the mornings. Breakfast is usually done on a cast iron griddle, again over the fire.

Well, I have made my decision. Thanks for all the help and advise. I am lucky enough/ unlucky enough to have both a Cabala's and a Sportsmans Warehouse with 35 minutes of my house. I went down today and had a look at what they had. I have to say I looked at stoves I did not think I would like, but after seeing the recomendations from you all I figured it was worth it. The Camp Chef's ended up being to big for my needs (for now, this will probably change with my luck). I liked the cast iron ones, but was worried about them being blown out if the wind came up. I ended up with the Coleman one I linked earlier. I like the idea of one stove/bbq instead of 2 separate units. Although I like BBQing over coals as well, much of the summer I can't do to fire restictions. The stove size is plenty big enough for two very large pots. Plus I can do every configuration of stove, grill and griddle. It also has the ability to be stand alone, or placed on a table. All in all I think I am going to like this stove. The only thing I don't like is it will be hard to pack do to it's size and shape, but I will figure this out it time.
