can you call an '82 a classic?

No affiliation, I just thought some might enjoy a classic '82 BJ41 that is legal to import into the US.

Cheers

iirc, the official rule is 25 years. that one's on the cusp...

then again, I consider my '87 BMW to be something of a classic.

Really nice looking truck, but I don't think that's an '82. It's got a round bezel, Toyota switched to a square bezel in '79. The bigger front turn signals came in 1975 and Canada got the B in 1978. But it's RHD, so it's probably Japanese. They got the B from 1974 to 1980. So it could be any of 1975-1978. But I'm fairly certain it's not an '82. None-the-less, good find!

I read a thread on 'Mud about this today. I believe its an 82 that was backed dated and it is JDM. I could be wrong but I saw it today. I'll try and find the thread later.

Wonder if it's an '82 with a pre-'79 front bib and grill? I fail to understand why getting a title that is at least 5 years newer than the actual chassis date makes sense. If anything it seems that you'd want an actual 1982 titled as a 1978, if say it was imported prior to 2006, this hitting the magic 25 year old mark.

Dave,

I was thinking the exact same thing...

I had a 79 BJ-40 and an 84 BJ-42 and I immediately thought to myself that this truck isn't a true 82.

Is an '82 a "classic"?
Heck yeah!
I'm getting my "Historic Vehicle" plates this summer when I renew my registration! :victory:
