The hummer is cool, but the location is better! Would that be the Banff Mountains in the background? Banff is a place I've always wanted to go but never have, huge mountains like that are awesome.

Rocky Mountains

Could be in Banff National Park, It's been a while since I've visited.

They are West of Edmonton almost to Jasper. I am in the same club as these guys. Realy good bunch to go out with.
Kyle how did you survive the last run I heard it was very tight. I wanted to go but I had the Wilderness first aid course that weekend.

Yup, that mountain is one of the small ones as there was nothing but prairies behind me. It gets even more spectacular

Here are a few more photos from that trip.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

My Jeep definitely took a beating last weekend Waytec. The trails were tight, not just side to side but also had lots of low branches. I was pretty careful and managed to escape unharmed (I will post some photos of that trip in a few minutes). How did the first aid course go?

I am really looking forward to the march trip. Depending on the weather and my passengers... I might try winter camping with you

The Xj's first run

Here are some photos of the XJ's first run.

Flex Shots. I am happy with the rear flex. It rubs so I will have to bumpstop a bit. (Note: the rear sway bar is out). I left the front connected as I wasn't sure if my break lines would be long enough.

Day 18

Day 18 Diff Oil Change and H4 Headlight install.

It was really nice weather out today, so I was in a good mood. Good day to change some oil....

Last year I followed this write up.Jeep Axle Differential Fluid Change Service Pretty straight forward.

I also installed these H4 Headlight housings... with the provided bulbs.
ebayimageh5.jpg

They are glass and SAE +DOT approved.

I plan to add HID's in the near future. I figured these bulbs would probably be an temporary upgrade. As they sit... they are a very marginal upgrade. My headlights are no longer yellow but more of white/blue.
They were only $12 +S&H (

They are super high wattage.. will that wreak anything?

Thats how it is near Waterton Park sharing the border with Glacier Park here in the US. If you look to your left you see huge peaks shooting up, and to your right there is absolutely nothing nothing nothing and then a little more nothing.

Love that area...spent a good amount of time in glacier, and the waterton lakes area, too.

Very cool place...

Where did I stay in the waterton area? it was a giant mansion/castle type place? I forget the name...

it was a nice change after camping for a few weeks. I loved how the place creaked and groaned with the high winds coming down the valley.

Lots of red foxes in the area, too.

Awesome! Could it been the Prince of Wales Hotel? I haven't been down to Waterton myself...yet

Day 18 Cont.

HIDs
I went with these lights, in the 5000k flavor.
12V 50/55W H4-3(9003) Bi-Xenon HID Kit - $68.99 : VVME.COM, Car Parts, HID KIT, Tattoo Kit, Ballast, Bulbs
From the drivers perspective these lights still look stock, just way BRIGHTER.

HID'S in Canada: All Canadian Vehicles have daytime running light (DRL) modules. This setting only provides something like 7v instead of 12v needed for the HIDs. I have even heard that it is harmful to run them at lower voltages.
Thus I unplugged my DRL module and turn my lights on Manually.

Installation Photos.
It can be a bit of a challenge finding a secure place for the ballasts without lengthening the wires. It is also important to get a very good ground to each ballast.
Passenger side (I removed the battery for installation)

Drivers Side. It kind of inhibits flow to the airbox, hopefully that problem will be solved with a snorkel.

My only complaint is that the inline fuse is not protected from the elements.
I am very happy with these lights!
